Does the Bible Disprove the BofM?
Let's get started shall we!
Here's some biblical evidence *In order of books*:
Isaiah 29 - Now the whole chapter talks about the Nephites, but the verses specifically I'm talking about is 11-13,because it says that a sealed book will come forth and be delivered to a man that is unlearned, and then it says in verse 13:...Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me...
Now look at was God said to Joseph Smith in Joseph Smith History verse 19:...the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me...
Easy money
Ezekial 37: 16-19 - These scriptures speak of 2 "sticks" or in that time they were wooden plates used for writing upon. Now Judah is the fourth son of Jacob, and became a natural leader, and after the division in Canaan of the tribes Judah and his peeps stayed in Jerusalem making the stick of Judah the Bible. The stick of Joseph is the Tribe of Ephraim which split off and as we know from the book of Ether in the BoM that the tribe of Ephraim split off to America, and Lehi being a descendant of Joseph makes the stick of Joseph the Book of Mormon.
John 10:16 Cross reference 3 Nephi 15: 21-22 - In John 10 verse 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
3 Nephi
21 And verily I say unto you, that ye are they of whom I said(In John 10:16): Other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
22 And they understood me not, for they supposed it had been the Gentiles; for they understood not that the Gentiles should be converted through their preaching.
The evidence is right there.
Now I could tell he was implying this but in revelations 22: 18-19 it says that no man shall add to these things, and Yada Yada and people think that the Book of mormon is adding to it when revelations says not to. Perfect so there are like 4 different explanations to this that all apply:
First: It says no man shall add to these "things" as in the book of revelations if you read 1 Nephi 14:19-30 John the revelator(the guy who wrote revelations) he visits Nephi and forbids him from writing anymore revelation because he already wrote it all in revelations.
Second: It also says in Deuteronomy 4:2 that no man shall add to this word, so does that mean that the new testament is also void? Because the New testament wasn't canonized as the scriptures known as the bible until about 600 ad. 👍
Third: It says no MAN shall add to these things. We know from 2 Timothy 3: 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Scripture is of God, it is written by man but only by whom God appoints to write, therefore it's from God. There's multiple times Nephi mentions that he doesn't know why he writes certain things, but he's doing it because God commanded him to write it.
Fourth: People think that because Revelations is the last book in the bible it was the last thing written, but Chronologically speaking the 4 gospels are only at the beginning because they are of the most importance, the acts of the apostles, the Epistles of Paul, Revelations all of which happened in the middle of the gospels, so the last thing in the Bible that was actually written was John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
John literally leaves scripture open for the rest of what Jesus Christ did on earth and that not one book could hold all of what he did.
All in all the Bible only proves that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God.
